AGAPE intends to consider renewable energy projects like in-stream hydro, wind power, solar and bio-mass.
The Armenian government is taking renewable energy development very seriously given the current import of all traditional fuel reserves from neighbouring countries. The Government sees great potential for solar energy based on Armenia’s prime geographical location. Solar maps are currently under development with the assistance of a $40 million USD grant as part of the Climate Investment Fund. Geothermal energy is also a part of this initiative, and projects have already started developing in Block 4.
